The Communications and Marketing Analyst is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing communications strategies for the Nurses Improving Care of Healthsystem Elders (“NICHE”) Program, at the Meyers College of Nursing. The Analyst will work with NICHE and Meyers leadership to shape and communicate key messages related to NICHE’s priorities and initiatives, working with the team to determine the most effective ways to deliver timely, relevant information to NICHE members and the greater geriatric nursing field. The analyst will be responsible for researching, writing, and editing communications, including newsletters and printed publications, as well as writing new web content for a recent web re-design. S/he will oversee NICHE’s online presence, including its website and social media platforms, as well as its online advertising. will employ project management skills to track deliverables and deadlines, and should be experienced in organizing both processes and people to ensure that the communications collaborative remains efficient and productive while maintaining high standards.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, and/or Journalism, or related field
Preferred Education: Master's degree
Required Experience: A minimum of 3 years of related experience in strategic and tactical communications. Must include experience with editorial production, website architecture and usability, and project management. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and lead the team effort required to execute them.
Preferred Experience: Experience in an academic and/or non-profit environment
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organizational, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills. Ability to write and edit publication material, develop and execute strategic communications. Familiarity with multiple technologies from desktop publishing software, to new and emerging web technologies, including WordPress, and social media platforms. Familiarity with digital design principles. Experience creating performance measures, developing management reports, and using data to inform marketing and communications strategies. Must be a highly motivated self-starter, who is comfortable working independently and in teams. Should have excellent customer service skills and be able to prioritize competing demands.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of the U.S. healthcare sector and nursing profession is a plus
