Central Maine Healthcare is pleased to announce an opportunity for an experienced strategic action-oriented marketing & communications individual to lead a key area of our organization through an exciting system transformation.
The Executive Director, Marketing & Communications is responsible for planning, development, implementation, and successful monitoring of marketing, communications, community relations, media relations, and digital strategies for the System. This position will work with the Vice President of Strategy and Managed Care, Executive and Service Line Leadership and other stakeholders to ensure that all marketing and communications initiatives are aligned and support strategic goals of the system. This position supports all internal communications, directs the creation of content for the public website and oversees development and production of our publications. The Executive Director, Marketing & Communications serves as the corporation’s spokesperson to the community and the media.
Key areas of Responsibility:
Directs the CMH marketing, communications and development functions of Central Maine Healthcare.
Provides input and leadership for the CMH strategic growth plan and develops system and service line marketing strategies in concert with the Executive Leadership Team and Service Line Leaders.
Engage with market research to drive decision making relative to marketing initiatives. Document performance goals and monitor measures of success.
Oversees development of all marketing and communications materials needed in print, online, digital, video, blog, and web medium.
Serves as the chief spokesperson for CMH and represents the system as the point of contact for emergency response communication and media contact.
Oversees communications department staff and works with outside vendors to develop traditional forms of print and electronic communications and “new” media including social, digital and mobile applications.
Develops / maintains positive relationships with local broadcast and print media representatives.
Develop an annual community engagement plan, working collaboratively with other groups.
Manages the development function and staff at CMH including annual fundraising, major gift cultivation, planned giving and bequests, and special events.
Acts as the CMH lobbyist to further CMH’s state and federal legislative and regulatory interests; interacts with the Maine Hospital Association, the American Hospital Association and other outside interest groups.
Evaluating and staying current on public policies, and legislative activities related to healthcare.
Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
Communicates the mission, vision, values and ethics of the organization.
Consistently maintains confidentiality of all information gained during the course of employment, respecting the privacy of others.
Manages departmental budget in accordance with CMH standards for expense control and accountability.
Bachelor's degree required. A Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related field is preferred.
