The Real Estate Transaction Manager is responsible for the management of real estate activity for a portfolio of properties across the United States. The candidate will monitor critical lease dates and secure necessary business direction in time to position firm for successful negotiations. The candidate will be required to be pro-active, numbers-oriented, and capable of handling a high volume of workload. The position requires real estate knowledge, understanding of leases and lease provisions, excellent communication skills and a strong transactional skill base. The job requires experience in negotiating and reviewing leases, renewals, extensions, relocations to new sites, buyouts and subleases. The candidate will take on additional tasks including initiating coordination and communication with construction management, finance, strategy, legal counsel as well as management of vendors including real estate brokers. Skills required for the new role will include the ability to present facts and issues to management. The candidate will need excellent communication skills and analytical ability.
What you’ll do:
Research, complete and present all real estate market analysis documentation for lease renewals (market rents, lease terms, alternative sites) Manage broker relationships and act as a day to day contact to landlords, attorneys and other stakeholder for real estate related issues within assigned portfolio of properties. Manage local brokers on projects. Evaluate and present alternative scenarios and recommended next steps to the client. Communication with the client and others on the transaction status. Develop positive relationships with internal and external clients and vendors. Resolve landlord and tenant disputes. Support Portfolio Directors Some travel required.
What you have: •Minimum of 5 years work experience in commercial real estate leasing transactions. •Must be detail-oriented, analytical, with problem solving ability and capable of coordinating multiple complex tasks. •Strong customer service and negotiation skills. Basic understanding of real estate and lease terminology. •Experience in researching real estate market information such as rental comps, sales comps, and identifying available properties in various markets. •Strong computer skills which may include use of Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook), CoStar, Loopnet and databases. •Minimum BS / BA required; business-related disciplines (or relevant business experience): business, real estate, finance, legal
